The African School of Regulation and the African Development Bank will host a webinar focused on the Regulating Energy Storage in Africa on 22nd May 2025.
The webinar will bring together regional electricity regulatory authorities in Africa, senior government officials from Africa’s energy ministries, development partners, market players in battery energy storage in Africa and a variety of other stakeholders.
It will seek to explore regulatory challenges, policy frameworks, market incentives, and technical standards needed to scale up energy storage across Africa.
There will be two sessions as outlined below:
- Presentation on the importance of energy storage in Africa's energy transition
- A panel discussion on “Technological and Regulatory Landscape including the economic and market considerations of Battery Storage in Africa “.
